Our Lineup (Always a Work in Progress)

We try to keep a deep bench of breeders, both bucks and does. We have worked hard to bring in lines from a wide variety of rabbitries from all over the United States, and are always on the lookout for new talent. Every single individual in our program brings something to the table, so if you have a practiced "show posing" eye you are likely to miss the holistic view that we see in any given animal. (And we are by no means accomplished posers here--our rabbits are barn-bunnies, not show queens. They tolerate nail trims and weigh-ins, but most of them turn into bucking broncs when you try to pose them...we pick our battles.) "Breed the best and cull the rest" is very subjective, and means something different in every barn. Here we place top priority on temperament and breed-ability (mellowness, fertility, ease of mating, litter survival rates, milk production, etc). After that comes size and growth rates. Finally, we work on adherence to the almighty SOP (standard of perfection) of the ARBA. We look at each rabbit as a total package...what one may lack in "peak" or "shoulders" it will make up for in some other areas. We attempt to plan pairings to better the next generation with complimentary strengths from both parents. The "homeliest" girl in our barn by ARBA standards is our runaway rock-star mom. She'd raise a baby skunk if we asked her to. She's also as friendly as a puppy dog and passes that temperament on to her litters. A judge would laugh her off the table, no doubt...but she has been one of our most valuable foundation does and will retire here a queen. That's how we judge perfection in our barn. Our barn, our rules. Your barn, your rules!

senior bucks

WA's Fester

B_CCDDEE

  • Ramirez, D&A, & Collins lines (Smokey X Wednesday)
  • 10.12# at 24 weeks old!
  • Huge boy--build like a bull.
  • Shoulders look like he's wearing football pads from overhead...
  • Black. Testing for chocolate.
  • Excellent structure and fur.
  • Polite, effective breeder.
  • Shy, quiet and mellow.
  • The best buck we've ever bred here as far as size, fur, and structure!

D&A's Aslan

BBCcDdEE

  • D&A lines (Lil Blue X Blue Roan)
  • 9.2#
  • Black. Carries Dilute and REW.
  • Excellent structure and fur.
  • Polite, effective breeder.
  • Laid back attitude-very chill.
  • Loves physical attention.

CV's Bandit

BBCcDdEE

  • Country View & D&A lines (Chipmunk X Beautifully Broken)
  • 9.1#
  • Broken black. Carries dilute and REW.
  • Enthusiastic breeder, unbothered by assistance with reluctant does.
  • Outgoing, inquisitive, mischievous and a total luv-bug.

CV's Bourbon

bbC_ddee

  • Country View lines (Charlie X 4 Leaf Clover)
  • 8.1#
  • Lilac tort.
  • All offspring will carry chocolate, dilute AND tort due to his double recessive "everything" color.
  • REW is possible but not tested yet.
  • Polite, effective breeder.
  • Feline temperament. Likes affection on his terms, and will knock anything set on top of his cage to the ground in a flash.

Reis' Gandalf

BBccDdEE

  • Heritage Homestead & TimberRose lines (Rubble X Licorice)
  • 9.8#
  • REW over black. Carries dilute.
  • Great size and absolutely divine fur, which he passes onto his offspring.
  • Polite, effective breeder.
  • Reserved. Think high-school quarterback....way too cool to mingle with us peons. (Unless we come bearing treats. Then we're OK.)

WA's Whiskey

BbC_D_ee

  • Country View lines, bred here. (Adam X Mocha)
  • 9.4#
  • Full brother to Soda.
  • Black tort. Carries chocolate. (Testing for dilute and REW.)
  • Wide shoulders and decent loin.
  • Polite, effective breeder.
  • Friendly, but attempting to pose him on a table is seen as a declaration of war, and will be treated as such...hence the candid photo with the still present side-eye...

Senior Does

D&A's Mina

BBCCDDEE

  • D&A lines. (Ferg X Firestorm)
  • 9.75#
  • Black. No recessive colors.
  • Nice fur, decent structure and a fantastic mother.
  • A little standoffish, but becomes very friendly when she's got a litter.
  • Another rabbit in our barn who thinks posing on the table is an invitation to hand-to-hand combat...so another "casual pic".

D&A's Wednesday

BbCCDDEE

  • D&A lines lines. (Daely X Faye)
  • 11.6#
  • Black. Carries Chocolate.
  • Wednesday is probably the nicest doe we've brought into the program. She's built like a meat brick, has superior structure, excellent fur, and a robust, blocky head.
  • Fantastic, protective mother--she'll let us handle the litter without trouble, but definitely keeps one eye on us at all times while consuming her "distraction snack".
  • She's not a lover, but does enjoy the occasional pet.

SHH's Violet

bbCCddEE

  • Jumper & Thumper lines. (Radagast X Drizzle)
  • 10.3#
  • Lilac.
  • Violet is our last remaining original SF breeder from our start two years ago. She is lanky, rangy, and no beauty queen...but she's big, affable, a fantastic mother, and throws beautiful kits. We feel like our program has come a long way from Violet's roots, but she will retire here with a queen's life because she was our main foundation doe from our first batch of Silver Fox rabbits here at Willoughby.

CV's Mocha

bbCcDdEe

  • Country View lines. (Charlie X Queen Latifa)
  • 10.35#
  • Chocolate. Carries dilute, tort, & REW.
  • Mocha is our first Country View rabbit. She's no table queen, but she has never lost a kit, would foster a baby skunk, and is the sweetest doe we've ever had. She passes her mellow nature on to her kits, and will live the high life here until her last breath. (She's actually Tim's pet, but don't tell anyone...)

CV's Fresca

BbC_Ddee

  • Country View lines. (Chipmunk X Beautifully Broken)
  • 7.2#
  • Black tort. Full sister to Bandit.
  • Fresca is a little pistol. Feisty and a total attention hound.
  • She's small, but mighty--latest litter was 10 kits two weeks ago and they're all doing great!

WA's Soda

BbC_ddee

  • Country View lines, bred here. (Adam X Mocha)
  • 8.45#
  • Blue tort. Carries chocolate. Testing for REW.
  • Full sister to Whiskey.
  • Soda is our first homegrown tort doe. A good momma--reserved but friendly.
  • Trying to pose her summons her "mechanical bull" impersonation...so we just went with a casual pose wearing the "try that again and I'll pitch you over this fence" look.

WA's Martini

BbC_ddEe

  • Country View lines, bred here. (Adam X Cocoa)
  • Full sister to Nehi.
  • 10.65#
  • Blue. Carries chocolate and tort.
  • Testing for REW.
  • Excellent mother.
  • Martini is actually built very well and has great stand-up fur with even silvering. Had an absolute fit while being posed, and made it clear this photo was as good as it's gonna get.

WA's Nehi

bbC_ddEe

  • Country View lines, bred here. (Adam X Cocoa)
  • Full sister to Martini.
  • 9.3#
  • Lilac. Carries tort.
  • Testing for REW.
  • Excellent mother.
  • Nehi is a little more slender than her sister Martini, and her coat is a bit fly-back. What she lacks there she makes up for in color and personality--an absolute cuddle-bug since she was small.
  • Yep, another "not a fan of posing" lady...

WA's Leeloo

bbC_ddEe

  • Country View lines, bred here. (Chipmunk X Cocoa)
  • 8.7#
  • Lilac.
  • Testing for REW.
  • Nice shoulders and her daddy's loin.
  • A VERY assertive breeder...this girl likes to party, and will abuse any buck who's the slightest bit shy!
  • Named for the character in the Fifth Element who was always getting into trouble...for a reason. (She keeps us on our toes.)

WA's Zima

BbC_DdEe

  • Country View & D&A lines, bred here. (Charlie X Mina)
  • 8.75#
  • Black. Carries chocolate, dilute and tort.
  • Testing for REW.
  • Nice structure and excellent fur texture. Very even silvering. Just a very pretty rabbit overall!
  • A bit standoffish with people but will lift a mile high for the bucks...which we like here.
